Wordfence Security Plugin Issues

This section deals with the various issues that may be caused due to the Wordfence security plugin preventing connection of your site with Speedy. note: the below list may expand as we encounter more issues relateed to the plugin

Common Issues

Application Passwords Disabled Due To Wordfence

By default the Wordfence security plugin disables Application Passwords causing all requests to your site's REST API to fail. This can be fixed by following the steps below:

  • Open your site's admin panel, it should look something like this: Wordfence plugin issues
  • Navigate to the Wordfence option on your admin panel sidebar. Wordfence plugin issues
  • From the expanded menu select All Options. Wordfence plugin issues
  • Navigate to the Brute Force Protection section. Wordfence plugin issues
  • Navigate to Advanced Options under Brute Force Protection and locate the Disable Application Passwords option. Wordfence plugin issues
  • Uncheck the Disable Application Passwords option. Wordfence plugin issues
  • Click on Save Changes. Wordfence plugin issues

You can now navigate to your Speedy dashboard and confirm the connection status under the Integrations page.
